Stephen Wheeler

Stephen Wheeler is a composer, performer, producer, and teacher originally from Marion, Massachusetts. From August of 2009 to May of 2011, he was an ASCAP Foundation Henry Mancini fellow and teaching assistant at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. This culminated with him receiving his Masters of Music in Media Writing and Production this past spring. He has composed many works for various ensembles and mediums of all shapes and sizes, including his most recent concert band piece “For Those Without a Voice,” for the Tri-County Symphonic Band’s 50th anniversary. Stephen’s music often crosses lines of genre and is influenced by artists of wildly diverse styles. This has led him to seek out and study with teachers from very differing backgrounds such as Phil Sanborn, Joel Thome, Richie Morales, Gary Lindsay, Dr. Raul Murciano, and many others. He continues to work towards bringing out the best in his music, and hopes that you will enjoy the new piece.
