Hector Berlioz, Georges Bizet and Leonard Bernstein help us to continue our "alliteration" series as we explore the music of these fine composers. With Berlioz, we travel to Rome ("Roman Carnival Overture") and to the center of Paris ("March to the Scaffold"). The two Bizet offerings represent his most famous works ("L'arlesienne Suite #1" and "Carmen Fantasie"). Bernstein's contribution to our program includes a tribute to Mstislav Rostropovich ("Slava") and his enduring masterwork for the musical theater ("West Side Story").

Philip Sanborn returns to the Tri-County stage as soloist for this concert. Mr. Sanborn is a Marion, MA resident and the current Music Director of the Tri-County Symphonic Band. He will be performing "All Those Endearing Young Charms" by Simone Mantia.

  • Holst - First Suite for Military Band
  • Bennett - Suite of Old American Dances
  • Vaughan Williams - English Folk Song Suite
  • Bernstein- Slava
  • Mantia - All Those Endearing Young Charms
  • Arnold - Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo

Please don't forget about our Special Benefit Concert for the
Tri-County Music Association's Scholarship Fund!
